Evie has a new hangout!

Once upon a time, not so long ago, in a place not so far away, Evie didn't like to play.  At least she wouldn't play anywhere but on someone's lap.  Her playmat was okay for awhile, but she got over that once she decided to sit up.  Then wonderfuly on his gallant steed ( ok, the back of my Mom's car), the Jumpy arrived.

Jason has been feeling a little anxious that the amount of baby stuff taking over! So when I found this contraption I jumped on it (pun intended).  It is a jumper and an exersaucer in on.  Seriously this thing over-multitasks: it lights up, plays music and speaks in three languages.  But to be honest I couldn't careless if it played songs from the 70's backwards, because Evie likes it.  We are now often able to begin and end dinner without someone holding the baby. Well, at least Jason gets to finish, because we all know he eats to fast, and is therefore finished way before me.

But of course we must be careful about when we use it.  Evie is super particular, and has just a small sweet period in which it will work.  Evie has to be full and just up from a nap, or she will not self-amuse.  But I will take what I can get.
P.S. Sorry my picture is blurry, I wouldn't stop bouncing.

Evie goes to camp again and to the movies

I doubt there are very few Guides who can say they went to their first camp when they were three months old, but Evie is now part of that exclusive group.  This weekend me and my little joey headed off to Brownie camp.

For the most part it was probably a pretty boring weekend for her.  She spent most of the weekend in her wrap, and therefore a disproportionately high percentage sleeping.  She really was pretty perfectly behaved considering, but I think she was pretty done with being squished by the time we got home.

On Thursday Evie and I went to the movies with Nannie Smith.  I have been meaning to take her to Reel Babies, but this is the first time we have actually gone.  Evie must have known it was a place where she could cry, because she was perfectly behaved! Not one Peep! She sat staring at the huge screen for the first hour and then I fed her and put her down for a nap for the rest.  We saw "What to expect when you are expecting" which was in fact a pretty funny movie.

Beyond that, nothing exciting has really happened to us this past week. We rearranged her nursery again, because this kid has so much stuff, we have to keep buying more storage! Oh well that just means more decorating fun for me :)
